Regulatory & Compliance Accountant
S&T is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Regulatory & Compliance Accountant. Based primarily in our Brewster office with the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, tasks will primarily be centered around the analysis and maintenance of federal and/or state regulatory requirements for a rapidly growing telecommunications company. Proficiency in interpreting financial data, preparing financial documents, and compiling miscellaneous reports is essential. On-the-job training will be provided; however, experience with and a basic understanding of GAAP and Regulatory Accounting will be rewarded.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the cleanup of system data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and uniformity.
- Data extraction, input, and submission of regulatory filings.
- Collaboration with consultants to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Understanding of current and developing laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Facilitation of federal and state applications, tariffs, waivers, loan applications, audits, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Law, Compliance, other related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the Telecommunications industry.
- Valid Kansas driver’s license with a good driving record.

- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to manipulate and extract data from complex systems.
- Self-starter; able to see projects through to completion with considerable autonomy.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well and foster relationships at all levels of the organization.
Other Skills & Abilities: PC proficiency is essential (primarily Windows environment), and strong working knowledge of Google Suites as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Office and accounting software and databases.
